About Me

My name is Steffy. I am 29 years old. Though I am from Germany, I have „Salsa in my blood“ and love traveling.

After high school, I directly started working for an international company through which I gained lots of exposure to different cultures and countries. In 2011 I worked for a few months in the affiliate in Quito, Ecuador. This was the first time for me being so far away from home. What of course had to happen – I fell in love – not with a person, but with Ecuador, the culture, the music, the landscape, the people. Many people said that I would probably experience a cultural shock when going to Ecuador. However, the people are so warm and welcoming, that it was actually a shock for me when I returned to Germany.

Since then, I have been traveling a lot, especially in Latin America, and I also managed to work for a couple of months in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Traveling during vacations is definitely an awesome thing to do. For me, I always wanted to see and experience as much as possible in 2-3weeks time, so that vacation became a very busy – everything planned through from day 1 to day x. You often learn about the most beautiful places, when you are already in the country, so having some flexibility is crucial. To cut a long story short, I quit my job and started my sabbatical to ensure I have the time to get to know the countries and the people and not just some lovely places.

On this website, I want to share with you my experience and adventures during my sabbatical via my blog. Furthermore, I want to provide you some insights into my previous travels, including my three favourite countries in the world (so far):   1) Cuba  2) Belize and 3) Ecuador

I hope you enjoy reading my stories. If you have any feedback, e.g., on your travel experience or how to improve my website, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Thank you!

All the best,
Steffy
